Requirements:
The position is available initially for 2 years with the prospect of extension. Salary is commensurate with the German public service scale (E13). Experience in mammalian cell biology, molecular biology and/or biochemistry is required, knowledge of chromosome biology is an advantage, enthusiasm for basic life science with a biomedical touch is expected. Working language is English, a PhD is required.
Abstract:
Chromosome dynamics is fundamental to life. However, it is far from being understood. Our lab is interested in several different aspects of chromosome biology and biochemistry in both, somatic and in germ cells, including stem cells.
Description:
Chromosome dynamics is fundamental to life. However, it is far from being understood. Our lab is interested in several different aspects of chromosome biology and biochemistry in both, somatic and in germ cells, including stem cells. Current emphasis is on cohesin and reated protein and their complexes. We offer the opportunity to join an internationally competitive research project on chromsome processes such as DNA repair, recombination, transcription, telomere protection.
