Requirements:

Basic Qualifications: Advanced degree in education, psychology, economics or related field. Excellent writing, research, analysis, communication, and interpersonal skills a must. Candidate will have a strong background in research project design and implementation, and will bring a mix of quantitative and qualitative research skills, including experience, for example, with literature reviews, statistical analysis, interviews and focus groups, content analysis, classroom video review, and outcomes assessment. Applicants should be prepared to submit writing samples, transcripts, and letters of recommendation.

Additional Qualifications: MBA preferred. Familiarity with a statistical analysis package (SPSS, SAS) highly preferred.

Contributes to the work of the Christensen Center for Teaching and Learning, whose mission is to promote and support teaching excellence and innovation at Harvard Business School and provide global leadership in case method teaching and participant-centered learning.

Description:

Duties & Responsibilities: Contributes to the work of the Christensen Center for Teaching and Learning, whose mission is to promote and support teaching excellence and innovation at Harvard Business School and provide global leadership in case method teaching and participant-centered learning. Will design projects and conduct applied research in a number of areas pertaining to management education and pedagogies that support participant-centered learning (including case method teaching, field-based experiential learning, simulations, and peer learning activities). Project areas include research on case teaching, curricular innovations, program assessment, gender and diversity, student evaluations of teaching, and teaching effectiveness in management education. Candidate will be responsible for conducting quantitative and qualitative research and clearly communicating findings in output produced by the Center. Work will be conducted individually as well as on project teams. Note: This is a one-year appointment with the possibility of extension.
