Requirements:
- Masters or Doctorate Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science or a similar engineering / mathematics degree, with an emphasis on signal processing, image processing, autonomous navigation, or estimation theory.
The skills, experience, and knowledge required for this position include:
- Excellent knowledge of the signal processing theory and / or the estimation theory and controls
- Experience with implementation of such algorithms, debugging and verification
- Matlab and preferably also Simulink experience is mandatory (or at least with a comparable product)
- Interest in and understanding of the state-of-the-art sensor technologie
- Knowledge of the following technologies is a significant plus:Lidar sensors data processing, deep knowledge of image processing, radar signal processing, SLAM, object recognition and classification, tracking algorithms, kalman and particle filtering, system modeling and estimation
- Fluent English

Abstract:
Research Engineer / Scientist to provide technical knowledge and expertise in the area of navigation and surveillance for internal and joint research programs. Responsibilities include but are not limited to: 1.Development of navigation and surveillance systems, including navigation systems for autonomous aircraft and ground vehicles, sensor fusion, airborne collision prevention and situation awareness; 2.Research and development of image processing, digital signal processing, and data fusion algorithms
Description:
1.Development of navigation and surveillance systems, including navigation systems for autonomous aircraft and ground vehicles, sensor fusion, airborne collision prevention and situation awareness.
2.Research and development of image processing, digital signal processing, and data fusion algorithms
3.Research and development of novel approaches and systems for the highly dependable navigation, e.g. in the absence of the GPS signal
4.Contribution to the development of control systems
5.Contribution to embedded software development and / or FPGA implementation, debugging and verification of the algorithms on the target platform
6.Usage of ingenuity and creativity to develop solutions for complex problem statements
7.Preparation of technical documentation and presentations to internal and external customers
