Requirements:

You will be experienced with the handling and analysis of large datasets and have experience with database and statistical software packages such as SQL and Stata. A PhD in epidemiology, health services research or a relevant area and an existing publication record are required. The ability to use initiative to creatively identify areas for research, develop new research methods and to extend the research portfolio of the group is essential.

Abstract:

This post provides an opportunity to work within a growing research group on a project evaluating the processes and outcomes of NHS colorectal cancer care.

Description:

This post provides an opportunity to work within a growing research group on a project evaluating the processes and outcomes of NHS colorectal cancer care. The project will, for the first time, generate the high quality data required by the NHS to reliably monitor the quality of its colorectal cancer services, optimise care and, ultimately, improve survival. This pioneering work is of international importance and is funded by a major grant from Cancer Research UK. You will publish in leading journals and be a key part of the growing colorectal cancer epidemiology team.
 
The post is available immediately on a full-time basis with a fixed end date of 30 April 2014 and is located within Northern & Yorkshire Cancer Registry & Information Service (NYCRIS), Level 6, Institute of Oncology, Bexley Wing, St James's University Hospital.
 
University Grade 7 (£29,972 - £35,788) depending on qualifications and experience
