PhDs in Neuroscience / Alzheimer's Disease We are looking for PhD students who want to join our group at the Center of Neuropathology at the Ludwig-Maximilians University (LMU) in Munich. We are offering projects involving in vivo two-photon imaging in order to identify new therapeutical strategies to cure synaptic dysfunction in Alzheimer’s and Parkinson’s disease
PhD in development of enhanced photoswitchable fluorescent proteins Fluorescent proteins (FPs) have revolutionized molecular cell biology and the more recent development of photoswitchable fluorescent proteins (psFPs) holds promise for even further boosts in this dynamic scientific field. In conjunction with parallel development of advanced optical imaging methodologies, these psFPs will allow novel avenues for quantitative (multi-color) single-molecule microscopy in live cells.
PhD fellow Validation of Biomarkers This project focuses on the identification of biomarkers for gastrointestinal health.
Postdoctoral scientist: intrinsically disordered proteins The laboratory of Peter Tompa at the VIB Department of Molecular and Cellular Interactions, Vrije Universiteit Brussel, Belgium is seeking to hire a postdoctoral expert in protein science. Peter Tompa, a world expert on intrinsically disordered proteins (IDPs, Tompa 2002 Trends Biochem. Sci. 27, 527; Tompa 2011 Curr. Opin. Struct. Biol. epub), recently moved to take the position of director of the department and started his lab to work on various projects related to IDPs.

Graduate position in Medicine Faculty A position is opened for a motivated graduate student to study the involvement of the ubiquitin system in the underlying pathogenetic mechanisms of neurodegenerative diseases
Post-Doctoral (CM) - Bioinformatic approaches to investigate the genetic basis of systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE) - Arthritis and Clinical Immunology (CMontgomery) We are seeking a post-doctoral researcher interested in bioinformatic approaches to investigate the genetic basis of systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE).
PhD fellowship in Physiological proteomics of chemoautotrophic symbionts from marine invertebrates Symbioses between chemosynthetic bacteria and marine invertebrates occur in a variety of environments, such as deep sea hydrothermal vents or cold seeps.
