Abstract:
NTNU invites applications for two Ph.d positions within the Research Centre on Zero Emission Buildings and the Research Project on Improved Window Technologies for Energy Efficient Buildings. Both projects are performed at NTNU and SINTEF Building and Infrastructure, collaborating with several leading industry companies and international research institutes.
Description:
We are looking for two dedicated persons who would like to take part in our research activities within the following areas:
1. Thermal building insulation materials
We are looking for a candidate to participate in development of thermal insulation materials for applications in zero energy/zero emission buildings. The candidate should have a background on one or several of the following fields: nano materials science and technology, theoretical and experimental thermal physics.
2. Improved window technologies
For this position we are looking for a candidate with interest in developing window technologies for the next generation of buildings. The candidate should have a background in one or several of the following fields: building physics and engineering, thermal science, window research, solar technologies, materials science and technology.
We want to invite applications within these fields. The applicants should write a research proposal within the above mentioned areas. This description should not be longer than two A4 pages.

PhD.-candidates are normally appointed for 4 years including the 25% duty work, but an appointment for 3 years without teaching duties, may also be possible.
Salary level for PhD.-position is 48-61 in the Governmental Salary scheme, normally Salary level 48, gross NOK 383 700 per annum, of which 2 % is deducted for the State Pension Scheme. The salary may be adjusted to reflect the applicant´s experience. The appointment requires enrolment in the PhD programme.

Applicants must agree to participate in organized doctoral study programme within the period of appointment, and appointment will not be made until the candidate is admitted to the PhD-program. A contract will be drawn up for the candidate for the period of appointment and work-related rules.
