Abstract:
Two positions as part of TAMNEAC, a Marie Curie Early Stage Researchers Network to train young researchers in the economic analysis of violent conflict, the European Centre for Advanced Research in Economics and Statistics (ECARES), part of the Solvay Brussels School of Economics and Management (SBS-EM) at the Université Libre de Bruxelles will hire two doctoral fellows.
Description:
The fellows will work in the domain of development micro-economics and apply theory and empirical methods to analyse household formation, marriage, fertility and mortality in conflict affected countries. Recent household data collected in Burundi will be used. Fellows will be supervised by Prof. Philip Verwimp.
We are looking for development economists who want to specialise in the economic analysis of conflict. Applicants should be highly motivated, have an advanced MA degree in economics and interested to pursue a scholarly career. Demographers are also welcome to apply. Pertaining to EU rules for these fellowships, applicants should have less than 4 years post-MA research experience and cannot have resided in Belgium for more than 12 months during the last 3 years. Applicants should be ready to enrol in the doctoral program offered by ECARES and fulfil the conditions of admission.
