Description:

Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center is located in New York, in Manhattan’s Upper East Side, adjacent to the Cornell University Weill Medical College and the Rockefeller University. This rich scientific environment provides many unique and unparalleled research training opportunities.
A postdoctoral fellow position is available immediately to study the role of Hsp90 and Hsp70 chaperones in neurodegeneration (Luo et al. PNAS 2007, Wang et al. J. Neurosci 2008, Luo et al. BMC Neurosci 2008, Luo et al. Mol Neurodegener. 2010).

The fellow will join a multidisciplinary team operating at the interface of chemistry, biology and medicine. The team’s efforts focus on understanding mechanisms associated with regulation of pathogenic systems by molecular chaperones. The ultimate goal of the team is to translate these findings into novel treatments for neurodegenerative diseases and cancers. Efforts in neurodegeneration are conducted through collaborative efforts with scientists at Rockefeller University and Weill Cornell Medical College.
