Abstract:

The Institute for Surgical Technology and Biomechanics has opened a postdoctoral position in the area of craniomaxillo facial surgery with focus on soft tissue simulations. The fellow will be working on advancing current developments and making novel contributions to our current advanced and clinically-oriented surgical planning framework

Description:

The Institute for Surgical Technologies and Biomechanics, University of Bern, Switzerland is
looking for candidates for a postdoctoral fellow in the topic of soft tissue simulations for craniomaxillo-
facial (CMF) surgery. The initial period is allocated for 18 months with possibilities of extension to 30 months, starting on April 1st, 2011 or upon agreement.
The fellow will work on advancing state-of-the-art methodologies and on extending software functionalities for soft tissue simulations in CMF surgery. Both practical and theoretical work will be
developed, and he or she will participate in the supervision of PhD students. In addition, the fellow
will work in close contact with our industrial and clinical partners.
