Your profileFor this position, we seek candidates with a background in artificial intelligence, computer science, cognitive science or some related area, with experience in multi-agent modeling. The PhD candidates have a good (research) master degree in one of the aforementioned areas, a strong interest in doing research, excellent writing skills and a good command of English.

Abstract:

The jobFor the TiCC research program Creative Computing, we are looking for a enthusiastic and competent PhD colleague: PhD Computational models of organizational and social processes 4 years, 1.0 fte, or 5 years, 0,8 fte For this project, led by prof.dr. Eric Postma and prof.dr. Jaap van den Herik, applicants are invited to write a research proposal about computational models of organizational and social processes. The proposal should include the concepts of agent-based models and self-organization in relation to the effectiveness of teams or organizations. Your application should include a concrete research plan related to the position of your choice

Employment terms and conditionsTilburg University is rated among the top Dutch employers, offering excellent terms of employment. The collective labour agreement of Tilburg University applies. The selected candidates will start with a contract for one year, concluded by an evaluation. Upon a positive outcome of the first-year evaluation, the candidate will be offered an employment contract for the remaining years. Candidates with a Research Master will be offered a 1+2 years-contract. Master students might be offered a 1+3 years-contract, depending on their previous research experience. The PhD candidates will be ranked in the Dutch university job ranking system (UFO) as a PhD-student (promovendus) with a starting salary of € 2.042.-- gross per month in the first year, up to € 2.492.-- in the third year or € 2.612.-- in the fourth year (amounts fulltime). The selected candidate is expected to have written a PhD thesis by the end of the contract (which may be based on articles).
