Description:

OncoMark is currently involved in an EU funded project called ‘RATHER: Rational Therapy for Breast Cancer: Individualized Treatment for Difficult-to-Treat Breast Cancer Subtypes’, along with 7 other collaborators around Europe. The aim of the project is to comprehensively investigate protein kinases and their signaling pathways in difficult to treat breast cancers, such as triple negative breast cancers (ER-, PR- and Her2-) and lobular cancer. The overall aim is to identify potential targets for therapy and to develop diagnostic tests to enable patient stratification for clinical trials with targeted therapy.

The researcher recruited to OncoMark will be recruited to perform aspects of this project and will be responsible for creating tissue microarrays (TMAs), performing immunohistochemistry / FISH/ ISH, scanning the slides digitally and performing automated image analysis.
The successful candidate will be instrumental is bringing forward key markers for development into diagnostics tests.
 
Contract:
- 2 years in OncoMark (Dublin, Ireland). This contract is subject to suitable probationary period.

Possible start date: May/June 2011

Salary: Gross salary in the region of €37-40,000 depending on experience
