Qualification required
PhD. in Mathematics, Physics, Engineering or Scientific Computing + at least 2 years experience in CFD or Fluid Dynamics.
Solid track of Research Publications.

Skills required
Knowledge and master of the following techniques:
Modelling in Fluid Mechanics.
Applied Fluid Mechanics and, in particular, Turbomachinery.
Numerical methods for Partial Differential Equations.
Optimization.
Proven experience in the development of SW code in CFD (C++, open-source projects, commercial SW packages, etc.).
Leading competences to manage research teams and achieve grants and projects.
Pro-active attitude and willingness to develop a challenging research project.
Fluent English. Knowledge of Spanish and/or Basque languages would be an asset

BCAM and Baltogar are offering a Joint Position for a candidate to lead a Research Project, scheduled in 5 years to develop an Innovative CFD Platform for the Design and Optimization of High Performance Turbomachinery.

Description:

BCAM (www.bcamath.org) is a Research Center in Applied Mathematics, whose mission is to develop high quality interdisciplinary research. With an international team of researchers, the scientific program is structured in several research areas covering various fields of Applied Mathematics. BCAM is a recently established center with the ambition of becoming a reference center in the applied mathematics.

During the last fifty years, BALTOGAR (www.baltogar.com) has developed the technology of industrial fans, particularly high performance fans. Since 1995 it is part of the BRUNNSCHWEILER group, an organization that employs three hundred people in various countries. Baltogar is aiming to develop new products, (axial and centrifugal compressors) and increase the effort in applied and basic Fluid Dynamics research.

BCAM and Baltogar headquarters are located in the area of Technological Park of Bizkaia, near Bilbao in the Basque Country, in the North of Spain. Bilbao is located in a unique environment for technologically oriented highly innovative research, close to several Universities, research centers and R&D companies.

Offered Position
BCAM and Baltogar are offering a Joint Position for a candidate to lead a Research Project, scheduled in 5 years to develop an Innovative CFD Platform for the Design and Optimization of High Performance Turbomachinery.
The Research Professor will build and lead the team of Computation Fluid Dynamics in BCAM, and will supervise the PhD students and postdoctoral fellows who join the team. During the first months, he/she will have some travel and research money, although it will expected from him/her to raise funds and achieve grants for his project.
We are offering a competitive salary that shall be negotiated with each candidate, depending on the qualifications, research track and leading skills. This is a tenure track position enabling the candidate to achieve a permanent contract, provided that the evaluation is successful.
The position is located in BCAM, in close collaboration with Baltogar.
