Requirements:
YOUR EXPERT & WORKING KNOWLEDGE
- Engineering Fundamentals in Aerodynamics, Thermodynamics, Fluid Dynamics and Heat-Mass Transfer
- Engines and related Systems Conceptual Development and Design
- Numerical Computation, Software Design & Configuration Management
- Practical experience with systems analysis tools and with scientific programming languages (C++, Java, MATLAB)
- Knowledge of Numerical Propulsion Simulation System is a plus
- System or component modeling experience is desirable by not necessary
YOUR TECHNICAL FUNCTIONS
- Develop, maintain and apply state-of-art complex thermodynamic cycles simulations
- Engine performance analysis, including prediction and diagnostics of unexpected behavior of development
- Engine operability analysis, including stall margin, thrust response, starting, combustor stability etc
- Analysis of software methods to validate models adequacy and fidelity
- Maintain, manage and improve performance models for engines including customer decks
- Support engine development including data acquisition, validation and multilateral analyses (performance, operability, emissions etc).
YOUR ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES
- Work with internal and external customers to define optimal configurations, design goals and requirements
- Formulate and implement plans to achieve goals, schedule and the product/program requirements
- Work with leaders to plan and execute efforts to validate and improve models
- Demonstrated experience in, or willingness to learn engine thermodynamic cycles modeling and performance data analysis
- Work with other members of the performance, operability, steady state and transient analysis to better understand physical models and interpret results obtained
YOUR EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
- Master or PhD in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering degree.
- Experience in engine or relevant professional field.
