You will be occupied with the following tasks: designing and conducting research, training in connection with the research project and a limited amount of teaching. We expect you to present your research at international conferences and to publish results in renowned scientific journals. The research should result in a PhD thesis. Nine PhD positions are available, covering the following areas: DisCon: Globalisation socio-economic institutions, and access to resources 27.04.11/1: The politics of regulating transnational investment flows in the context of growing financialisation: the EU bilateral agreements with the Global South 27.04.11/2: Micro and macro level determinants of conflict escalation in a globalizing world 27.04.11/3: Globalisation and the national welfare state: friends or foe? ResOrg: Health care management 27.04.11/4: Cross-organisational coordination in health care 27.04.11/5: Specialist healthcare teams’ implicit and explicit coordination and information use in treatment trajectories: effects on the quality of care 27.04.11/6: Life-long employability in health care: managing sickness absence in European hospitals Terram: The role of the state in spatial governance 27.04.11/7: Microfinance between civil society and the state: a critical-comparativist perspective 27.04.11/8: Community-based initiatives in sustainable energy policies: co-governance of sustainable spaces in Europe 27.04.11/9: Designing (regional) spaces for innovative ‘place-making’
The program contains a maximum of 80 hours of teaching per year, generally concentrated in the first years, depending on the project. You will be offered an initial contract for 18 months with the possibility of extension. The salary is in accordance with the Collective Labour Agreement of Dutch universities.
