Description:
At Tolerx, we’re approaching both disease and work in novel ways. Our mission is to normalize the immune system — to STOP it from mistakenly seeing normal body cells as something to attack (as can happen, for instance, in type 1 diabetes), or INDUCE it to attack something mistakenly being tolerated (as can happen with tumors or viruses). And we’re looking to do this without impacting normal immune function (a drawback of many classic immunotherapies). This scientific approach is complemented by our unique corporate attitude. Our passionate, competitive, and very human work ethic colors everything we do — and are.
We are seeking a talented, proactive and highly motivated industry-experienced scientist to help lead research into novel immunomodulatory drug targets. This individual will play an important role in identifying and leading research programs into new immunomodulatory drugs, especially in the fields of oncology, autoimmunity, and inflammation. This person may also assist in studies to further the mechanistic understanding of our existing drug candidates. As an important member of the research department, the Principal Scientist will help to advance Tolerx’s existing and future research pipeline
