Requirements:
Candidates must have a Ph.D. degree in chemistry and ideally should have postdoctoral experience in an analytical service. Competence in spectroscopic methods with specialization in NMR spectroscopy is essential.
Experience working in a collaborative team setting and providing training and support to other users is a plus. Strong analytical, organizational and interpersonal skills as well as good verbal and writing skills are required.
Abstract:
The nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR) spectroscopy service is part of the Faculty’s Analytical Service and is equipped with two state-of-the art Bruker instruments. The University of Neuchâtel is internationally renowned for its interdisciplinary teaching and research, for its spacious, state-of-the-art infrastructure, as well as for its attractive setting in the French-speaking part of Switzerland

Activities:
Service:
Organize the Analytical Service in collaboration with other spectroscopists; provide NMR services for the Faculty of Science; ensure maintenance of the NMR equipment; offer paid NMR services to the local scientific and industry community.
Research:
Keep up-to-date on developments in NMR technology; participate in research projects of faculty members; develop his or her own research projects.
Teaching:
Co-organize courses in spectroscopy at the MSc and PhD level; participate in courses in analytical chemistry at the BSc level.
