Abstract:

Postdoctoral researcher position in the Andalusian Centre for Molecular Biology and Regenerative Medicinein the Departament of Cell Therapy and Regenerative Medicine, in the research group led by Prof. Shom Shanker Bhattacharya

Description:

Main duties of the position:
• To investigate the molecular mechanism of stem cell and progenitor cell fate specification of human and mouse embryonic stem cells toward retinal cells using small chemical compounds, cell extract, gene manipulation.
• Generation of reporter stem cell lines that will be used in photoreceptor specification and isolation.
• Cell and gene therapy of animal knockout models of retinitis pigmentosa.
• Derivation of patient specific iPS cells and gene correction
• The selected candidate will coordinate progress of the projects within the research team and coordinate collaboration with external research teams. The candidate will be involved in applying for public and private funds and training young scientists and technicians.
• The successful applicant will join an international team in an exciting and interactive environment, equipped to the highest international standards
