Postdoctoral Research Scientist - Vaccine Development

Requirements:

- Ph.D. in Immunology, Biochemistry, Molecular biology, Microbiology, or similar Pharmaceutical or Biological Science

- Minimum of 2 years post-doctoral experience and good track record of scientific publications

- Hands-on experience and detail knowledge in laboratory techniques and assays including ELISA, flow cytometry, immunoassays, confocal microscopy, in-vitro and in-vivo efficacy assays, protein assays and other relevant experimental systems, and ability to train other staff and trouble shoot problems

- Some experience in supervisng technicians in an R&D environment, ability to work independently and handle multiple research projects at one time

- Experience in development, qualification or validation of analytical assays

- Strong and professional interpersonal and relationship building skills; ability to coordinate multi disciplinary teams to achieve common goals

- Good experience in computer and bioinformatics applications for data analysis, statistical analysis and data presentation

- Ability to work and execute work tasks in fast-paced environment and achieve milestones on time

- Knowledge and experience in pharmaceutical or biologics development is advantageous

Description:

Vaxine Pty Ltd is a small but fast growing Australian biotech company developing a portfolio of novel vaccines, against infectious diseases, allergy, autoimmunity and cancer. These vaccines are underpinned by Vaxine’s novel adjuvant and vaccine antigen technologies. In particular, Vaxine’s Advax vaccine adjuvant platform signifies a major breakthrough in vaccine design with its development being supported by the US National Institutes of Health.
Reporting to the Research Director, the candidate will provide leadership and knowledge to ongoing research and development projects, apply and develop new techniques/tools to boost the strength of the vaccine pipeline and explore immunological mechanisms of action, lead/support development and validation of assays, write scientific manuscripts and documentation related to product development and contribute to IP development and patents
