Abstract:

A postdoctoral position is available at the Weizmann Institute of Science, Israel, to study ‘lipid signaling and metabolism in cancer biology’

Description:

A postdoctoral position is available at the Weizmann Institute of Science, Israel, to study ‘lipid signaling and metabolism in cancer biology’. Various lipid species, especially phosphoinositides play a major regulatory role in cell survival, growth, proliferation and migration, and key functions in the development of malignancy and promotion of metastasis. The major goal of our studies is to define cellular mechanisms that control the levels and distribution of lipid species, including various phospholipids, in cancer cells, and to extrapolate our findings into cancer therapy.
We are looking for a highly qualified and motivated postdoctoral fellow to join a novel and challenging project aimed at elucidating the role of specific lipid-binding/modifying proteins in cancer development.
