Applicants should have an excellent undergraduate and graduate education with a solid background on chemical or environmental engineering or similar areas. The Center for Blue Gold Cluster and the Department of Environmental Engineering have state-of-the-art laboratory facilities available for this research. Opportunities to attend national and international meetings will be available and also it is encouraged to publish papers in refereed journals. Review of applicants will begin immediately and will continue until the position is filled, not later than February 28, 2011.

Description:

Post-doctoral research fellowships are available at Kyungpook National University (KNU) for qualified Ph.D. holders or equivalent degrees in environmental or chemical engineering. The fellowship starts from 2,400,000 Korean Won per month (equivalent to US$2,200 per month) including a living allowance, medical insurance, and benefits from the University and research funding. The awardee will conduct laboratory and field studies to investigate the removal of organic and inorganic contaminants from municipal wastewater using novel oxidation/membrane processes.
