Requirements:
Experience and qualification
* Engineer Degree, or equivalent, with a strong major in operational or radiological safety, and quality.
* Demonstrated, successful experience as a Safety engineer for an industrial site of a complexity similar to CERN.
* Good knowledge of:
* European directives and norms in force in matters of operational and radiological safety;
* Concepts in radiation protection, irradiation, activation, contamination and European regulations, norms and directives in force.
* Excellent written and oral communication skills, with the ability to analyse and synthesise information for clear presentation to diverse audiences.
* A problem solver, with an efficient approach, able to react and adapt quickly to different situations.
* Open minded, methodical and organised.
* Excellent command of French or English, written and spoken. At least a good basic knowledge of the other language and an undertaking to improve it rapidly.

Functions
As Safety Engineer in the Safety Unit (7 persons) you will take part in, and in some cases take responsibility for, the following activities, according to your particular competencies and experience:
* The evaluation of Safety requirements for the operation of beam installations under the responsibility of the Beams department.
* The elaboration or revision of the corresponding safety analyses, and write-up and updates of the safety documentation.
* Providing assistance to the various actors of the Beams Department and the Accelerators and Technology Sector for the implementation of Quality management for the operation of the facilities in order to be able to demonstrate their Safety
