Project overview: The main goal of this Project is to introduce the use of immersive environments as an innovative way of providing appealing educational content (applicable in the fields of Education and Training), enjoying the 3D audio and video surrounding. This new form of experiencing the content will transmit spatial perceptions to the users propitious to various areas of knowledge but, first, it is intended to explore it for math / geometry and music teaching, where they become truly differentiating, and for younger ones. The work plan, developed over a period of 21 months, comprises the following tasks:
- Study usability and accessibility evaluation in virtual environments;
- Study about interaction technologies to identify the most suitable ones to achieve the objectives defined;
- Develop serious games for educational purposes;
- Usability and accessibility tests.
Objectives: To produce a state-of-the-art report of usability and accessibility evaluation in virtual environments;
• To produce a report that identifies the usability and accessibility evaluation methods and techniques that will be used in the project;
• To identify the interaction technologies to be used in the platform;
• To collaborate in the development of serious games for educational purposes; To conduct usability and accessibility tests on the prototypes built and produce a report with the results obtained
