Research Fellowship in Plasmonics
Organization: University of Melbourne
Location: Melbourne, Australia
Field: Plasmonics
Requirements:
A strong background in optics and/or spectroscopy is assumed. The Fellowship is open to applicants from all countries. The University of Melbourne is committed to gender balance.
Abstract:
The Nanoscience Laboratory (NSL) has recently been funded by the Australian Research Council to conduct a 5 year program into the burgeoning field of plasmonics.
Description:
The Nanoscience Laboratory (NSL) has recently been funded by the Australian Research Council to conduct a 5 year program into the burgeoning field of plasmonics. The goal of this program is to enhance our understanding of plasmonics and to investigate how plasmonics might be exploited in applications such as solar cells, metamaterials, optical logic gates and single molecule detection.
The NSL is offering a 3 year Fellowship ( ~A$69,010 p.a. +9% supernannuation.) to help drive this program. The preferred candidate will undertake theoretical and/or instrument based research into the use of metal nanocrystals for applications in plasmonics. This may include optoelectronics, self-assembly, biosensing, plasmon based computation and switching, or all-optical circuitry.
