Requirements:

The candidate must hold a Master or a PhD degree.
The candidate must have an advanced expertise in European freshwater (and soil) diatom taxonomy and river ecology, documented by publications in peer reviewed scientific journals.
Knowledge in streamflow generation processes (e.g. saturation excess overland flow, infiltration excess overland flow, etc.) would be considered as an advantage.
The candidate has to be motivated and work independently, structured and self-responsible in a diversified environmental research department.
Good written and oral communication skills in English are required; knowledge in French, Spanish and German is an advantage.

Abstract:

The Centre de Recherche Public - Gabriel Lippmann, a fast growing public establishment for applied scientific research and technology transfer in Luxembourg, has an opening on a fixed-term contract basis in its department "Environment and agro-biotechnologies" (EVA) for a diatomist with expertise in diatom ecology and taxonomy

Description:

The researcher will participate in R&D projects dealing with freshwater and soil diatom ecology, including participation in sample collection and preparation, diatom identification in light and scanning electron microscopy.
