Abstract:
As an Expert in Biosphere Modelling and Radiological Impact Studies you will help with the performance of radiological impact studies and the development of the biosphere model (radiological impact model), primarily in connection with the disposal of radioactive waste.
Description:
• familiarization with current biosphere and radiological impact models;
• further development of these biosphere models by the introduction of mechanistic and dynamic modules;
• development of a soil-vegetation-atmosphere transfer model, including validation and calibration;
• application of these models in connection with low-level and high-level radioactive waste;
• development of a network to integrate the research in a national and international framework;
• formulation of new project proposals, search for external funding for these projects, and collaboration in the implementation of these projects;
• coaching of other researchers, for instance as part of a PhD or post-doctoral programme;
• writing scientific publications
4-year contract in one of the largest research centres in Belgium, the SCK-CEN (Belgian Nuclear Research Centre)
