Description:
The position is available at Umeå Plant Science Centre (UPSC), Dept. of Plant Physiology, Umeå University, from the earliest possible time point. The research will be conducted in the group of Dr. Johannes Hanson, and is supported by the Bio4Energy program, www.bio4energy.se.
Project description
This project will address the metabolic reprogramming in response to low energy availability (starvation) stress in plants. Focus will lie on the molecular mechanisms involved in the regulatory pathways regulating the process. This involves kinases as well as transcription factors. Both Arabidopsis and hybrid aspen will be used as model organisms within the project. The project will be tightly integrated with the EU funded international network on metabolic reprogramming – MERIT, see www.uu.nl/science/MERIT.
