The Early Stage Researcher (in possession of a relevant Masters degree -or close to obtaining it; with not more than 4 years of full time research experience) is expected to work on a project exploring the development of intersubjectivity and self-conscious emotions from a neurobiological perspective in relationship with interpersonal factors during toddlerhood. This project will be accomplished at the Institute of Advanced Biomedical Technologies (ITAB, Chieti, Italy) in collaboration with the University of Parma.

PhD student Glioneuronal Tumors Pathology

Glioneuronal tumors (GNT’s) are the most frequent brain tumors in children with refractory epilepsy. These tumors consist of a mixture of dysplastic neurons and neoplastic glial cells. Little information is available on the specific genetic changes, malignant transformations and relapse in the different subtypes of GNT’s. The chances for relapse and/or progression are unpredictable. A better insight is required in the biologic mechanisms related to such unfortunate behavior of the tumor.
